The Essential Role of Kidneys For Human Health

It’s no surprise that the kidneys are essential organs for human health. But what exactly do they do? And why are they so important? In this post, we’ll explore these questions to gain a better understanding of how our kidneys keep us healthy and why it’s important to take care of them.

What are Kidneys?

Kidneys are two bean-shaped organs located near the middle of your back, just below the rib cage. They filter waste and extra water out of your blood which is then eliminated in your urine. They also help to regulate levels of electrolytes, such as sodium and potassium, which is necessary for proper body function.

 How Do Kidneys Work?

The kidneys are responsible for filtering around 120-150 quarts of blood every day! This filtration process begins when blood enters the glomerulus (a tiny capillary) within each kidney. As the blood passes through this capillary, wastes and excess fluids are filtered out. These wastes and fluids form urine, which is then sent to the bladder to be eliminated from the body. The remaining clean blood enters a second set of capillaries where it is returned to circulation throughout the body.

Why Are Kidneys So Important?

Kidneys play an essential role in maintaining proper balance in our bodies by regulating electrolyte levels and eliminating toxins from our systems. Without healthy kidneys, these toxins can build up in our bodies leading to a host of potential health issues such as high blood pressure, anemia, bone disease, nerve damage, and even kidney failure! Taking steps to maintain healthy kidneys through diet and exercise can help prevent these conditions from developing or worsening over time.

Kidneys play a vital role in keeping us healthy by filtering waste and extra fluids out of our bloodstream while regulating electrolyte levels throughout our body. By taking steps to maintain healthy kidneys through diet and exercise, we can reduce the risk of developing or worsening health problems related to poor kidney function. Business professionals need to be aware that their overall wellbeing is dependent on having strong kidney functions so they should take steps now towards caring for their kidneys now before any serious issues arise later down the line!
